About the Sea Party
The Alaska Sea Party is a statewide grassroots organization comprised of state & municipal leaders and concerned citizens allied for the purpose of promoting the re-establishment of a coastal management program for Alaska.
The Sea Party has supporters and volunteers all over the state, including the 33,265 Alaskans who early in 2012 signed the petition to put Coastal Management on a statewide ballot. The initiative was ultimatly defeated by well-financed Outside corporations, but the struggle to return Coastal Management to Alaska continues.
Both sides of the issue agreed strongly that the state needs a coastal management program, the debate was only over how it should look. The Sea Party remains commited to its cause and the future of the state's coasts.

Sea Party Chair Bruce Botelho has served as Alaska State Attorney General, and is currently serving his fourth term as mayor of Juneau. He is a member of the Tongass Futures Roundtable, serves on the Alaska Rural Justice and Law Enforcement Commission, is a director of the Alaska Municipal League, and past president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. He is a former trustee of the Alaska Permanent Fund, an original trustee of the Alaska Children's Trust, and former chair of the Conference of Western Attorneys General. |

Co-Chair Terzah Tippin Poe, a life-long Alaskan of Inupiat descent, has worked in communications, community relations, sustainable development and resource development executive management in the Arctic and Americas for nearly two decades. She served as Chair of the Nature Conservancy's Corporate Council on the Environment, vice chair of Koahnic Broadcast Corporation and has served on many community service boards including Assets Inc., Providence Cancer Center Steering Committee, Safe Harbor Inn and Girl Scouts of Alaska. In addition, Poe has been a leader of efforts to get out the Native vote, resource development initiatives, and community advocacy and community capacity-building drives in all five regions of Alaska and in the Americas. She currently lives in Anchorage with her husband, Bob Poe. |

Vice-Chair Loren Jones has lived in Juneau since 1975 and has always been active in the community. Since retiring from the State of Alaska, he has had the time to dedicate to his community by working on boards and election campaigns. He feels that we deserve to have a quality Coastal Zone program in Alaska and is committed to working hard to see that this passes in the August 28, 2012 election. |

Campaign Coordinator Alida Bus grew up in Juneau and has worked professionally in Southeast Alaska since 2008, most recently as chief of staff and campaign manager for a state senator. She has a B.S. in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism and is nearing completion of her Masters in Public Administration at the University of Alaska Southeast. Alida enjoys kayaking, fishing, cooking/eating local foods, and other coast-centric activities, and is looking forward to restoring Alaska's voice in coastal development |
